The League of Women Voters of Ridgewood, New Jersey

Welcome back to returning members and welcome to new members!  Hope everyone has been enjoying the summer.

Our first meeting of the 2026-27 year will be Thursday, September 17 at 12 noon. Meeting materials to follow, including Zoom link for those joining us remotely.  Please note our new location this fall!  Lester Stable, at 259 S. Maple Ave, first floor art room. There is parking, but if some can carpool or park at Maple field and walk to the Stable, that might be good.

Lunch will be served, but please bring your own beverage.

We will be hosting two speakers from the Newark Archdiocese's network of migrant ministries, Damaris Rostran and Catherine Tansey, at our meeting on the 17th.  They will update us on the status of detainees at Delaney Hall ICE Detention Center in Newark. In addition, they will be collecting the following much needed items for detainees and their families (thank you again to those who donated items from the Eyes on Ice list in June, and to Mary and Barry Krugman for delivering them - all much appreciated):

$25 ShopRite or Stop n Shop gift cards (think about picking one up if you find yourself at either store over the next few weeks!)

Canned tuna (you might have some that you aren't using)

Peanut butter

Non-perishable snacks e.g. cookies

Larger size diapers, 5 to 7 (and any size is appreciated, if you know of any supply that is not being used)
